Mrs. Jacie Davidson
Welcome to first grade!! My name is Jacie Davidson, and I am currently in my 15th year of teaching. I graduated from the University of West Alabama in 2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. In addition, I received my Masters Degree from UWA in 2010. I am married to my college sweetheart, and we just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We have two handsome sons: Bryce (5) and Cameron (9 months).
As a teacher, I feel that children learn best in comfortable, yet structured environments. I also believe that a well-established academic routine is essential for excelled learning. You will see as the weeks go by, we tend to follow the same routine week by week. Different lessons will be learned and activities will be taught, but in the same manner each week.
Parent-Teacher communication is very important to me. In order for your child to achieve the best for him/her we need to be on the same page. Please don’t hesitate to email me with any concern or question you might have. Remember to check your child’s take home folder daily for notes, information from the office and discipline problems-if they should arise. As far as discipline goes, I do have behavioral expectations for my students in order to help make them a classroom citizen! I believe rules should be followed, class rules as well as school rules, or a consequence will follow.
I truly believe that teachers are not just educators but act as a “mom” in the classroom. I do my best to take care of my students’ emotional needs as well as their academic needs. When your child has a problem, academically or not, I want him/her to know that I am here to help in any way. Teaching is not just my job but also a passion!
I look forward to a wonderful, fun and successful year with you and your child!
