About Mrs. Burrell

Getting to know Mrs. Burrell:

I was born in Fort Benning, Georgia. For the majority of my childhood age I resided in Sacramento, California in which I call this home. I have lived in several states as well (moving every two years) due to I am a military brat (Army Branch).  I was brought up with two incredible parents. I am the oldest of three siblings (one sister and two brothers). I grew up playing various sports in elementary and high school.

I attended University of Alabama at Birmingham where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Elementary Education. I furthered my education and received my Master’s degree in English as Second Language from University of Alabama at Birmingham.

I am blessed beyond measure to be surrounded with an amazing group of faculty and staff here at McAdory Elementary School. I taught 1st grade for four years and now I am teaching 3rd grade. I feel that I have the best job in the world and that is having the opportunity to change a child’s life one day at a time. I want to be remembered as a legend. A famous quote that inspires me each and every day to do my best and keep going is “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” William Ward

I am happily married (19 years)to my husband Marlon Burrell and we live in Helena with our two beautiful daughters (Jasmine and Jayden Burrell). I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, crafting, shopping, shopping and more shopping. 
