I have been teaching at McAdory since 2016. Before joining this family, I taught at another Jefferson County school, Crumly Chapel, for one year. I graduated from The University of Alabama in Huntsville with a degree in Elementary Education. Since then, I have enjoyed learning with a number of amazing students in and out of the classroom. During the summer I tutor math at Hoover Library and teach math at Girls Incorporated of Central Alabama. During the school year, I am the Science Olympiad coach here at McAdory. Apart from school, I am the choir director and a praise and worship leader at my church.
As you can see, my life revolves around the concept of teaching. It is my desire that every student in my classroom learns to become his or her own teacher. We promote students solving problems based on their prior experiences and problem solving strategies taught in the classroom daily. I always hope that 4th grade will be the best year yet for each of my students, but even more than that, I hope that each year thereafter is even better.
Away from work, I enjoy singing, reading, spending time with family and friends, and experiencing new things.
